
Natural stone tiles continue to be a popular choice for home tiles due to their beauty and unique appearance. While every tile has uniformity in base colour, the nature of the material means there is a slight variation and uniqueness to each tile.
Natural stone tiles are also extremely hardwearing and if properly maintained will last a lifetime.
However, natural stone tiles are high maintenance compared to their manmade counterparts. Natural stone tiles, especially the softer, more porous stones, such as marble, limestone, and travertine, require regular sealing to protect them from water, dirt and stains.
However, thanks to the development of digital printing it is now possible to achieve the beautiful appearance of natural stone in a more practical porcelain tile.
Porcelain stone effect tiles look like natural stone, they even have the irregularities that are seen in natural stone tiles, but are don’t require sealing. These tiles are water resistant, hard wearing and a low maintenance option. Like the real thing, natural stone effect tiles tend to be neutral so can work with any colour scheme.
