We’re just back from Cersaie 2016, one of the largest international trade shows of ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings.
We attend this exhibition every year to check out the latest trends, meet potential new tile suppliers and catch up with our existing suppliers.
This show never disappoints and yet again the range of tiles available and the amazing visual displays wowed us.
Here are our top picks of the latest tile trends:
Large format tiles
Large format tiles are still a major trend in the tile industry and just seem to be getting bigger and bigger! Large tiles are perfect for making spaces feel larger and require less maintenance than smaller tiles. They’re ideal for busy areas in your home.
Stone effect tiles
Natural stone tiles look beautiful but require a lot of maintenance to keep them in tip top condition. Stone look a like porcelain tiles are a perfect, easy maintenance alternative. Advances in technology have enabled more pattern variation, which creates a more realistic looking stone effect tile.
Textured tiles
Textured tiles are a big trend this year. Encompassing floor and wall tiles the selection is endless. Waves, geometric patterns, linea structures and floral motifs are all now readily available. We were particularly taken by a tweed effect tile, which looked and felt amazing.
Wood effect tiles
Wood effect tiles capture the look of natural timber yet benefit from the durability and ease of maintenance of tiles. Wood effect tiles have been a big trend in the world of interior design for some time now but their popularity shows no signs of diminishing. Instead tile designers are getting more creative and applying more adventurous finishes. We fell in love with a denim wood effect tile, which was being tested at the show. All being well it should go into production and we will have it in the showroom.
Following our visit to Cersaie we have placed several tile orders and hope to have our new stock in the showroom very soon. Please keep an eye on the website where we will announce our latest deliveries.
